AEROSPACE ENGINEER

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • New and existing aircraft design analysis including aerodynamic, propulsion, and power system performance.

  • Low and high-fidelity analytic modeling of vehicle subsystems.

  • Aerodynamic database generation, fitting, and analysis.

  • Communicating and coordinating with OEM and suppliers to achieve objectives.

  • Lead and support multidisciplinary team including controls, mechanical, manufacturing, software, and electrical engineers through effective project management execution.

 

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Aircraft design including clean sheet design, prototype development, flight testing, and production.

  • Generation of aerodynamic derivatives and databases for use in simulation/performance prediction.

  • Wind tunnel and flight test planning, model building, execution, and data reduction.

  • Aero-mechanical, and electro-mechanical familiarity.

  • Familiarity with autopilot and flight control design is desirable.

  • Experience with NATO STANAG and AS9100 design standards.

  • Familiarity with Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS) and operations.

  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation in good standing with APEGA (or equivalent).

  • Expertise in one or more of the following areas: multi-disciplinary optimization, aerodynamic geometry optimization.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to pass Royal Canadian Mounted Police background check.

Must be willing to travel (approximately 10%) to field locations as necessary.
