What you’ll do:

  • Full cycle PCB design including collecting requirements, schematic design, component selection, supervision or completion of layout, bring-up, test, debug and integration with the system.

  • Development of air vehicle electrical power system components.

  • Develop system interconnect diagrams and define wire harnesses that connect electronic equipment within the vehicle.

  • Provide support and collaborate within other air vehicle subsystem development constraints

  • Vendor surveys and evaluation to support sourcing for power system components.

  • Conduct peer-level and cross-discipline design reviews.

  • Build up and test of power system components through lab, ground, and flight tests.

  • Low-level firmware development for bring-up and test.

  • Root cause analysis in support of field operations.


About You:

  • You have demonstrable experience with firmware development in C, with exposure to assembly.

  • Comfortable in the design and hand build up of PCB assemblies: 2,4, 4+ layers.

  • Comfortable supporting the develop of 2+ products at any given time.

  • You have a bias towards action, from helping test a piece of hardware in the field, to writing documentation.

  • You learn rapidly and have a strong curiosity.

Required Qualifications:

  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation with 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Enthusiastic about both mentoring others and executing work individually.

  • Comfortable with a variety of CAD tools (Altium preferred, Eagle and other acceptable).



Preferred Qualifications:

  • Exposure to failsafe firmware design is desirable.

  • Experience with switching power supplies, analog amplification/filters, standard bus topologies including CAN bus, serial, SPI & I2C.

  • Experience in aerospace is a bonus.
