  • Communicating and coordinating with multi-disciplinary team and external organizations.

  • Establish relevant design architectures that will support Type Certification.

  • Liaise with regulatory bodies to ensure adherence to standards and best practices.

  • Work with various internal departments on design, integration and testing of sub-systems.


  • Experience with firmware development in C, with exposure to assembly is required.

  • Demonstrated experience in the design of PCBs: 2, 4, 4+ layers (controlled impedance, delay matching, power dissipation).

  • Effective problem solving, communication and technical writing skills.

  • Demonstrable experience with circuit designs, including switching power supplies, analog amplification/filters, standard bus topologies including SPI & I2C, CAN bus, and serial.

  • Experience with sensor interfacing.

  • Detailed knowledge of “bare metal” or “superloop” programming.

  • Experience in hand assembly of PCB assemblies.

  • Exposure to failsafe firmware design is desirable.

  • Familiarity with Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS), RC aircraft experience is desirable.

  • Experience with systems testing including power protection, DO-160 and MIL-STD-704 is a bonus.


Ability to pass Royal Canadian Mounted Police background check.

Must be willing to travel (approximately 10%) to field locations as necessary.
